The Hot Emotional Unavailability Matrix (HEUM) is a tool created by psychotherapist and relationship expert Brianna Wiest to help people identify and understand their emotional availability in a romantic relationship. The matrix consists of four quadrants, each representing a different level of emotional unavailability: Low self-awareness and low emotional availability, High self-awareness and low emotional availability, Low self-awareness and high emotional availability, and High self-awareness and high emotional availability. The matrix is designed to help people identify their emotional patterns and tendencies and make more conscious and intentional choices in their relationships.
